About Me

Hi, I’m Ashly. I’m a UI/UX Product Designer who specializes in website design and development. I have a passion for good design and a desire to make the best experience for the user possible. I enjoy finding inspiration around me and solving problems by improving the overall experience for the user and my client.

Since 2016, I’ve been leading design teams serving as a project manager/coordinator, designer, and developer. As a design leader, I have honed my abilities wearing the many hats of business analyst, relationship manager, user/data researcher, developer, quality assurance analyst, and much more.

I’m the type of person who values clear communication and will work hard to determine the project goals and deliverables. I work well with big and small teams and take pride in my skills to help organize a project and team to provide updates along the way.

My Background

  • I started in the print design world, working during college with a company that created trophies and awards. From there, I worked for a printing company doing mostly weekly grocery ads and I learned a lot of valuable information about the printing process and prepress work.
  • After working in the print/graphic design industry for a few years, I decided to dive into web design as I saw more opportunities to learn, grow, and challenge myself. This led to going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree in 2012.
  • I still enjoy doing some print work and you’ll see some examples in my other work section.
  • I’ve spent 10+ years working with the government in Nebraska and Idaho in varying project sizes from small online form applications, to state websites, large state agency websites, and more. With all of these projects, website accessibility has been the priority. I’ve worked with specialists to test website accessibility and a variety of tools to test websites as well as attended numerous training sessions and webinars to stay up to date on the guidelines and best practices.
  • While working with the government, I’ve handled a variety of projects ranging from analytics analysis, social media management, Drupal website design and development, WordPress website design and development, leading many meetings and training sessions, and assisting with marketing materials.
